A franchise is defined as the right or license granted by a company (franchisor) to an individual or group (franchisee) to market its products or services in a specific territory utilizing the business name and trademark.
In acquiring a franchise, the vetting process is more extensive and typically takes a longer period of time to complete (2-3 months).
The franchisor is required by the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) to provide the franchisee with the Franchise Agreement which will need to be reviewed by the franchisee with a Franchise Attorney and is the legal agreement that governs the business relationship between the franchisor and franchisee. Additionally, the franchisor is required to make several disclosures upfront to the potential franchisee which are required to be included in the FDD (Franchise Disclosure Document) The FDD is required to be presented to the potential franchisee at least 14 days prior to franchise agreement being signed.
A franchise is a turnkey business model that typically includes marketing, technology, training & education, and ongoing mentor support.
One of the key differences between a franchise and a business opportunity is the upfront Franchise Fee and ongoing Royalty Fee that is typically paid monthly by the franchisee.
A business opportunity is defined as the sale or lease of any product, service, or equipment that will enable the purchaser-licensee to start a business.
Typically, with a business opportunity, the buyer owns the business outright and can customize aspects of the business to their specific client & market needs.
The agreement usually consists of a business system that includes training, equipment and service model.
A Vending Machine Territory is a great example of a business opportunity career.
Naturals2Go is a vending business opportunity focused on a curated assortment of healthy, natural and fresh snack items and an extensive beverage assortment showcased in a state of the art vending machine which accepts all forms of payment including google and apple pay.
Naturals2Go is an example of a business opportunity brand that provides more to their owner/operators than just equipment, training and a service model. In addition to these core items Naturals2Go also provides marketing & website and machine location support as well as ongoing coaching + mentoring.
Vending is a simple and home-based business model that offers a semi- absentee business opportunity. Many owner/operators keep their existing job and begin their vending business as a part-time endeavor that can eventually be scaled to full time if desired.
I recently spoke with Vincent Jackson who is one of the newest Naturals2Go owner/operators. Vincent went through training in June of this year, worked in market with his location expert in August and opened all 4 of his new machines by the end of September and just secured a 5th machine that he will locate at his newest account by the end of October.
During our conversation I asked Vincent why he chose Naturals2Go vending as his new small business opportunity. He outlined the following:
- Numerous business investment options which allowed him the opportunity to chose the best option for him and make an investment at a financial level that he felt most comfortable with.
- Ability to maintain a full-time job while simultaneously developing his vending business.
- Grow vending business over time at own pace while earning additional income that can be utilized to supplement retirement account.
